9% of this trip budget is reverts to a solidarity tourism association located in Phnom Srok in order to help poor population of this district and support their sustainable and ecological development.
DAY 1: Arrival at Siem Reap
DAY 2: Discovering of Angkor site
DAY 3: Visit of Roluos group (temples) and buffalo car trek
DAY 4: Tour on the lake and lunch time in a local’s house (Kampong Pluk)
DAY 5: Visit of Angkor
DAY 6: Banteay Srey and Phnom Kulen (temples)
DAY 7: Phnom Srok: Rice harvesting or pricking out and night in the pagoda
DAY 8 : Phnom Srok : Visit of silk farm
DAY 9 : On the way to Phnom Penh stop at Samnak village and Skoun market
DAY 10 : Visit of Phnom Penh
DAY 11 : trip from Phnom Penh to Kep ( rabbit island)
DAY 12 : Visit of a pepper plantation– return to the Phnom Penh airport

DAY 1 : Arrival at Siem Reap
Pick up from the airport.
Settling in at the hotel.
Lunch in a local restaurant (or at your hotel)
Traditional relaxing massage to recover from the travel weariness.

DAY 2: Discovering of Angkor site
In the morning let’s start the « big tour » by visiting Preah Khan. This temple was approximately built in the same time of Ta Prohm and was used as a temple and a university. Then you will be visiting Neak Poan, also singular as it was not a temple but a sanctuary established in the middle of an artificial lake and connected from its four cardinal points to four ponds. You will end by visiting the little Buddhist temple Ta Som built under Jayavarman VII

In the afternoon you will visit Angkor Thom city which was, under the regency of king Jayavarman VII the last capital of the great Khmer empire. This city is surrounded by an 8 meters high wall; each side of the wall is 4 km long. This a perfect square but with 5 entrances. Four doors are at the cardinal points and the fifth is the Victory door a direct way to the royal palace. You will get in through the south’s door which is decorated with huge sculptures depicting elephants. On each side of the door there are depicting of 54 for gods and devils holding the Naga snake. Once inside you will visit the Bayon. This temple is established exactly at the center of the town and it is possessing 54 towers referring to the 54 province of the Khmer empire. Each tower has 4 faces (cardinal points). Let’s finish the tour with the Elephant Terrace and the Leper’s king terrace.

DAY 3 : Visit of Roluos group (temples) and buffalo car trek
The tour will start with the visit of Roluos group, first city built by Cambodian kings. The first building was established in 879 by king Indravarman I it is Préah KO’s temple.
This temple got 6 towers made in bricks and a part of it is still covered by stucco, it was built in memory of King Jayavarman II. The king is depicted under the appearance of Shiva. The second temple is Bakong built on 881 by the same king.
It was the main and the biggest temple of the city; it is representing Mérou’s hill and god’s house. The third and the last temple of the group is Loleï built in 893 by King Yasovarma, in memory of his father King Jayavarman II. Apparently this temple was built in the middle of an artificial lake and had 6 towers but only 4 are still remaining.

DAY 4: Tour on the lake and lunch time in a local’s house (Kampong Pluk)
Boat trip to Kampong Pluk from the pier of Chhong Knéas (1h30 of sailing).
Visit of the floating village and lunch in a local’s house.

The afternoon will end with the visit of Wat Bo
DAY 5: Visit of Angkor
In the morning you will start with the “little tour” in order to discover Ta Prohm built at the end of the 12th century and at the beginning of the 13th. This temple is very singular as it’s still in the same state it was when it was discovered. Covered by fig-tree roots and huge climbing plants. Many parts of the temple are collapsed.
This tour including Bantey kdei an ancient Buddhist monastery of 12th century and Srah Srang well known as the ablutions basin also the towers of Chau Say Tevoda Thommanon

After lunch you will visit the biggest temple, the splendid Angkor Wat the main temple of Khmer architecture. This Vishnu temple was the kings’ funeral home.
Inside walls are all –covered with sculptures depicting Hinduism mythology, wars of King Suryavarman II and of course the well known 2000 Apsara dancers.

DAY 6: Banteay Srey and Phnom Kulen
Visit of Banteay Srey the smallest but the most beautiful temple of Cambodia and it is dedicated to women. Then you will go the Phnom Kulen where you will discover a mountain covered by luxurious vegetation a river run through and if you like you will swim under its waterfalls.

On your way back you will visit Banteay Samre.

DAY 7: Phnom Srok: Rice harvesting or pricking out and night in the pagoda
A discovery of the district with a briefing about our accomplishment and project in order to support a sustainable and ecological development in this area
Picnic on the bank of Ang Trapeang Thmor Lake
Meeting with local farmers and if you would like to it will be possible to give them a hand for their farm works. (Rice reaping)
At the end of the afternoon a dinner cooked by our cooker will be served to you. Farmers and monk will be invited to share the meal with you.
You will spend a night at the pagoda (under a roof and mattress and mosquito net will be at your disposal)
DAY 8: Phnom Srok: Visit of silk farm
After a local breakfast you will visit the silk farms guided by a weaver who will explain all the process to you: from breeding silk worm to weaving fabrics.
If you would like to it will be possible to buy directly from the weavers some amazing natural silk made stoles. (A fair trade)

DAY 9: On the way to Phnom Penh stop at Samnak village and Skoun market
Trip by bus to Phnom Penh with on the way a stop at the carvers village Samnak and at Skoun Market (it specialty is roasted or candied mygale spider that you will have the possibility to taste but this experience is absolutely not compulsory)

Arrival in Phnom Penh in the afternoon
after check in at your hotel you will have a trip through the town in order to discover Wat Phnom, Independence monument, and many administration buildings built during French protectorate.

DAY 10: Visit of Phnom Penh
In the morning you will start with the royal palace built on 1866. In its courtyard is rising the silver pagoda known for its 5000 silver flagstone. The original name is Wat Prakeo means Buddha emerald temple. In this temple there is a huge collection of Buddha in gold, silver, crystal and bronze.
Then you will visit the National Museum built in 1917. More than 5000 statues, lingas and other items from pre-Angkorian and post-Angkorian periods are shown here.

after lunch you will proceed with the 2 main markets of the town. The Russian market best place in town to buy wood sculptures, ancient coins, jewels and silk clothes. And the central market, built in 1937 by the French architect Jean DESBOIS (Grand prix of Rome). It is one of the biggest buildings of Cambodia. There you will find souvenirs, jewels, and all kind of electronic items.
At the end of the afternoon you will embark to see the sunset on the Mekong right at the place where its two tributaries are meeting (Tonlé Sap and Tonlé Bassac). This cruise will give you the opportunity to admire the Royal Palace frontage before to proceed and discovering the daily life of the river, unchanged for ages with fishermen

DAY 11: Phnom Penh – Kep: Rabbit Island
Around 7 o’clock just after breakfast departure to Kep. As soon as you will reach Kep you will embark to the Rabbit Island where you will enjoy its wonderful beaches and taste its crab, shrimps and fresh fishes (all you can eat). Island’s resident will grill or boil the meal in front of you.

DAY 12: Visit of a pepper plantation– return to the Phnom Penh airport
in the morning you will visit a pepper plantation. Kampot’s pepper is considering as one of the better pepper in the world.
you will also visit the town of Kampot, a city full of relic from French protectorate.

Return to Phnom Penh airport to catch you flight back
